📢 INVERELL BESS – A Cleaner Future For Australia

The Project has now moved into the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) phase, which allows for the full assessment of the merits of the proposed BESS.

South Energy Invites you to attend an information session where you can learn more about the Project’s Progress, share your insights and provide valuable feedback.

If you are unable to attend, we welcome feedback from interested community members via our online survey.

The Project

Covering approximately 10 hectares of land, the proposed Inverell BESS Project is a utility-scale energy storage project with a proposed installed capacity of approximately 150 megawatts (MW), and 1200 megawatt-hour (MWh) energy storage.

Inverell BESS Project is located approximately 5 km of Inverell township, and about 128 km West of Armidale, the region’s key electrical transmission and distribution hub.

A community investment program will be initiated to distribute funds for local community projects. This is supplementary to the many diverse economic opportunities resulting directly and indirectly from the project’s development.
