Inverell BESS Project will be located approximately 5.5 km east of Inverell township and about 128km from the next local town of Armidale, which is the central hub for electricity network distribution and transmission. Covering approximately 10 hectares of land, the battery project will be in a prime location to have excellent access to New South Wales’ energy network.

There are many reasons why Inverell has been chosen as the site for our proposed battery project. Some of these include:

• It has excellent access to New South Wales state’s energy infrastructure through the adjacent Inverell Transgrid Zone Substation;
• It is highly accessible through transport connections through both Gwydir Highway, Elsmore Road and Fisher Road;
• It is situated on previously cleared land, which further reduce biodiversity impacts;
• It has access to a wide network of renewable energy projects located in the New England Renewable Energy Zone, thereby helping to increase the uptake of renewable energy and keep the grid stable.
