South Energy believes that the Inverell site is ideal for a BESS project for the following reasons:

• It has excellent access to New South Wales state’s energy infrastructure through the adjacent Inverell Transgrid Zone Substation;
• It is highly accessible through transport connections through both Gwydir Highway, Elsmore Road and Fisher Road;
• It has minimal impact on the larger and wider community of Inverell, through its remote location;
• It has access to a wide network of renewable energy projects located in the New England Renewable Energy Zone, thereby helping to increase the uptake of renewable energy and keep the grid stable.
